Modern day lighthouse

From statue to building, the statue ‘Beacon’ became the inspiration for a hotel design

Beacon represents a modern day lighthouse (the hotel was created to be situated on the waterside of the river IJ in Amsterdam). The hotel would be developed using the Holz-100 System, consisting of two separate forms and on top an iron frame with glass taking the shape of a wedge. The two forms are connected on the inside of the building. Both forms would have a different wooden shell. On the lower building there is a roof terrace with a glass floor that gives daylight to the rest of the building.
